I would like mention recent experience in handling the Vice Chancellor's conference at the University of Plymouth. A fellow worker on the project had good experience with Publisher, for instance, but was not used to handling large sets of data. In good time before the conference took place, I was able to advise her as to how it was possible to take data from an Excel spreadsheet and copy it in 'en masse' into a Word document, where it then took on the attributes of a table, and could be worked upon as one would do for data in a Word table. Thus she was able to produce a delegate list with relatively little problems in the final days before the conference occurred.
